Ok, so here are some pictures for my first piece. Ever. A friend of mine asked for a skinning knife, so im making him one out of half of a wood rasp. It should be pretty awesome

Looks great. Are you ready for an apprentice yet? ;D I have been wanting to get into this for a while. i just haven't foung the time to set up a forge and get going yet.

Haha, no, not ready for an apprentice, heh, ill try to keep my progress posted. This knife will wait until i finish a couple of tools. I got to use this pair of tongs that made making this blade easy...
So i have to make some.. bad.

made a Big Thors hammer from a Bolt yesterday. Ill post pics later today. I forgot to take a picture this morning. Did this saturday with help from Ray.

Also, I built my forge from scratch. My most expensive part was my anvil, which cost me $100. But to build the forge i just used wood i already had, and found a pipe in the woods behind my house to use as the air feed. Then I bought a cheap 100 foot extension cord to run power out to the forge and I currently use my wife's hair dryer as a blower. The "fire" clay i dug up in my back yard and then it was like $9 to buy 6 fire bricks from the local cement company. Hopefully i can build a period bellows before Rag.. Or i get my hands on one of those antique forges with the handcrank blower.
