As much as I love Aric and being a Mom, between stress and motherhood the last 2 years have not been kind to my body in my weight department. I've actually started working out a little off and on in order to get back in shape, and become Hersir in our proud Empire. As of tomorrow, I'm starting on a bit more brisk work out plan, that has me doing something everyday. (For example: Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays I'll be walking 1 mile in 10 minutes, warm ups included. Then on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays doing leg lifts, "male" push ups with my feet in a chair, lundges, sit ups, and squats. With a new goal every few weeks, on top of upping numbers.) This is on top of a dieting that was working for me before I got pregnant. My goal is to be back down to 150lbs or less by Hersir Camp. My point is I'd just like to know if anyone is doing anything like this, or what they're doing to get ready for Hersir. I know Jostal has an awesome post on the Silver Ravens' board I checked out. I just thought I'd ask if anyone has any suggestions, thoughts, or wants to keep up with each other on this process. Hersir camp is hardcore, and I thought some grouping up to get in shape would be pretty awesome. ;D

You should have a day of rest. I would recommend Sundays as the rest day.
I have a plan, Ive just been busy and havent done it in a while.. :/
If you have armor, start wearing it around the house regularly, you will have to wear it at Hersir Camp.

I won't have my armor finished until just near Hersir Camp, but I have the 3 weeks before hand planned to wear my armor while I'm working out.
The off day is a good idea. I didn't even think about that.
Thanks, Jostal. ^_^
PS~Miss you guys!

Ilsa and I have been focusing on diet lately. Our biggest changes are eliminating sugars (and corn syrup), white flour, and pretty much everything processed. It hasn't been as hard as we thought it would be, though it took some hard mental adjusting at first. We've been eating a lot of yogurt, brown rice, fruit, eggs, and local meat for the past few weeks. We're still figuring it out, but we've already noticed that we don't have as many energy ups and downs as we did when we were eating sugar / white flour, and I've lost a few pounds around the waist.
We have to get back into some sort of physical conditioning soon. Even walking for an hour a day helps a lot with our energy levels, when we remember to do it.

We were doing really well here for a few weeks, cutting out a lot of the "junk" including soda and processed foods. Unfortunately budget and time constraints have severely limited us and we have, unfortunately, fallen back into some bad diet habits. Once we start having money in to really do groceries the way we want things will be a bit easier.

Ulfric and I are in a similar boat (haha) as Haldor. Cutting out pop makes a pretty big immediate difference. Plus work on controlling not just what you eat, but how much. It sucks for a few weeks until your stomach reduces in size, but smaller portion sizes means you feel full faster. Also, try eating several small 'meals' over the course of the day instead of 2-3 large ones.

^ I've been doing that as well. Cutting out corn syrup is one of my main focuses, and now that Frisbee is over for the season and we're almost done with the haying season I'm going to start a routine involving push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, some weight training, and runs. Woo...

This weekend or this coming week my dad and I will be cleaning out a corner of the livingroom, to make room for the tred-climber and bo-flex. So, he, my mom, and I will be working out more frequently. When I brought the idea of the family as a whole putting off a few pounds, he grabs the small love handle he has and went, "Yeah, I like that idea. We could all do with a bit of exersice, and having the equipment up here would make it easier for all of us. Especially you and your mom while watching Aric."

The best thing for Hersir camp is a strong mind. That will get you through more than a strong body. Though, being fit always helps.

I agree with Wolfgang. The Mental prep is just as important as the body. Get prepared everyone it is coming up soon!

Well given the fact from what the military has tought me. Also the fact that i am right down the road from you. I also have a multitude of sites from the military i can show you that have exersice plans that start from getting started to advanced. Also you could come over and practice as well cuz we all know i could stand to loose a few myself. But just know i will help in anyway i can just ask.
